This has been such an exciting project for us at Edith Barrera Interiors, LLC! We’ve had the joy of designing a space for a client who happened to have two awesome artwork pieces, one with a mighty buffalo and one with an old historic map of Buffalo Bayou in Houston, Texas. As an interior designer, I’m always looking for ways to create a design that looks and FEELS personal. So I first surveyed the space and took inventory of the artwork. When I came across the two pieces that the owner loved most, I just KNEW at that moment what the theme would be! Buffalo Bayou is an important landmark of Houston’s rich history, and having been raised in Houston, Texas myself, I also had an instant connection with the theme. The colors, the textures, the fabrics, the custom window shades and draperies, and the many other design elements in the space were born from that design inspiration and vision. The project is in its last phase, with just a few finishing touches missing, but the design vision I had for the space has certainly already come to life!
